Presented the Singapore Youth Awards to three outstanding young Singaporeans today - Aaron Maniam, Jovin Tan and Yeo Sze Ling.
Aaron writes poetry, and volunteers actively in MENDAKI, SINDA, and the National Youth Council.
Jovin, born with cerebral palsy, overcame his fear of the sea to become a champion sailor. He will be representing Singapore (again) in the Paralympics in London.
Sze Ling went blind at the age of 4, but persevered and excelled. She earned a PhD in Mathematics and become an A*STAR researcher.
All three are also deeply involved in community work, helping others to succeed and encouraging them to overcome adversity, as they themselves have done.
Congratulations, Aaron, Jovin and Sze Ling! You are inspirations to us all.
